Second District NONPACC Meeting

In the hope of relieving TimG of one of his many duties, I attended my first New Orleans Neighborhood Anti-Crime Council (“NONPACC”) Second District meeting on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.  The meeting brings together representatives of the various neighborhoods that comprise New Orleans’ Second District.  The monthly meeting held at Touro Hospital was an eye-opening experience, including everything from comparative crime statistics and trending to a spirited discussion of NOPD’s need for more officers.  For a detailed and well-written report on the meeting, see Robert Morris’ article in the Uptown Messenger (http://uptownmessenger.com/2012/01/nopd-second-district-monthly-community-meeting-2/).   I plan to attend these monthly meetings going forward so please post any questions or concerns you would like addressed.
