1. NORA to demolish 3417 Calhoun

    Back in May, 2011, NORA petitioned for 3417 Calhoun to be demolished. Facing no public opposition, a demo permit was ultimately issued in November. When asked, the Zoning Department could give no specific date on when (or if) demolition will take place.

    For now, the building (former home of Mr. Joseph Ogden) sits idle, its brick porch and facade steadily crumbling. Entergy and S&WB have disconnected gas, electric and water service to the property as a precaution.

  15. TimG addresses City Council Public Works Committee

    Friday morning, I had the pleasure of addressing City Council’s Public Works Committee, on which both our councilmembers, Susan Guidry and Stacy Head, serve.  The two meeting segments comprised a 2-hour discussion about FEMA Road Repairs and DPW Streetlight Maintenance.  My esteemed colleague from Broadmoor, LaToya Cantrell, also spoke.
