Entergy Update Assuages Customer Concerns

I’d like to give you an update on the work Entergy has completed to resolve customer concern and to locate the source of the odorant complaints [near State & Fontainebleau] we:

·         Surveyed the area multiple times with several pieces of leak detection equipment and found no indication of a natural gas leak.

·         We opened all drainage catch basins and sewer man-holes looking of a gas leak and nothing was found.

·         We exposed the abandoned 12” cast iron and it remains full of water eliminating it as potential source

·         We exposed the new plastic gas piping in the area and pressure tested it.  No leaks were found.

·         We added an enzyme to the drain near the intersection of Fontainebleau and State St. Dr.; the enzyme consumes odorant.

·         We monitored the area for a couple of weeks and no odorant was found.

It appears that the enzyme solved the issue.  Moreover, if a customer/resident smells natural gas or suspect a gas leak, call 1-800-ENTERGY(368-3749).
